What Happens to LAF Token and Why It Collapse
The LAF token, associated with a high-yield investment scheme, suffered a catastrophic and deliberate collapse around December 22, 2025. This event was not a typical market downturn but a calculated exit scam, resulting in near-total losses for investors.
The Collapse: A Swift "Rug Pull" The token's value experienced a devastating plunge, falling from approximately $92 to around $4 in a mere ten days. This precipitous drop culminated on December 22, 2025, effectively erasing investor wealth.
Evidence indicates the crash was directly caused by the project's operators. They orchestrated a "dump and flee" scheme, selling off massive quantities of their own tokens to drain liquidity and then disappearing. This action confirmed the project as a meticulously planned rug pull.
The Cause: A Promotional Scam The collapse was the inevitable end of a fraudulent operation. The project had attracted victims with unsustainable promises of extremely high returns, such as guarantees to turn a $10,000 investment into $14,100 within 30 days. These offers served as elaborate lures, particularly impacting vulnerable investors, including elderly individuals and ordinary workers.
In the aftermath, police took action against the operators, investigating the scam that left investors with virtually worthless tokens.
Background: A Legitimate Idea Overshadowed Prior to its association with the scam, the name "LAF" (Lost & Found) was linked to a separate, legitimate Web3 concept. That project proposed using WorldID and soulbound tokens (SBTs) to create a system for incentivizing the return of lost items.
However, in late December 2025, the LAF ticker became overwhelmingly synonymous with the devastating exit scam, completely overshadowing any earlier or unrelated projects using a similar name.
In summary, the LAF token collapse was a deliberate exit scam where operators dumped their tokens and fled, wiping out investors who were drawn in by fraudulent high-yield promises. Law enforcement intervention followed the scheme's catastrophic failure.
